CPE asks independents and non-CCA members for views on future

Community pharmacy owners in England have been asked to share their views about the pressures they face this winter and beyond in a survey that pharmacy’s negotiating body said will give them a chance to “directly input" into its committee’s discussions later this month.

Community Pharmacy England launched the survey to get a sense of how independent owners and non-Company Chemists’ Association members are feeling ahead of the committee meeting. The negotiator said its committee will look at what progress has been made on negotiations, potential developments for the 2024-25 Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework and CPE’s future strategy which it insists “is being shaped” by the vision it commissioned The King’s Fund and the Nuffield Trust to produce.

CPE said it will send the survey  to the head offices of CCA multiples in the next week. The survey closes at 11.59pm on November 6.

"The results of these polls and the outcomes of the meeting will be reported back to the sector afterwards," CPE said, promising that respondents' answers to the survey "will be used to feed into our ongoing work to press for an uplift to core funding by enhancing our evidence base of what pharmacy owners are experiencing."

CPE added: "This and future surveys will also increase the amount of data we have for use in our campaigning and influencing work."
